Students studying the Qur’ān are expected to display high moral character; this includes mannerisms, following instructions, patience towards class disruptions and completion of any set homework. Disrespect towards any teacher or management staff will not be tolerated in the least. Any concerns or issues should be addressed with a member of management in an appropriate manner or raised through email: info@shatibi.co.uk
All the Institute’s teachers are experienced and vetted prior to taking on students. This is to ensure the Institute’s high standard of teaching and to keep in line with the Institute’s aims of producing high quality Huffādh. Students are allocated teachers at the beginning of each term. It is expected, with Allah SWT’s permission, that the teacher we allocate will be your teacher until you completely memorise the Qur’ān. In the unforeseen circumstances that our teachers move on due to other personal commitments, the Institute will inform students well in advance and allocate them a new teacher.* We offer free trial sessions which is the perfect opportunity to meet your teacher. It is often the case that students have teacher preferences due to positive feedback from family or existing students, the Institute will make every effort to accommodate teacher preferences so long as allocation and schedule permits. This means flexibility is required from students if they have a strong preference but we will try our best to accommodate students where possible and appropriate. * We do offer under 16’s lessons however the Institute requires their parents or guardian to accompany them during their lesson slot. Under no circumstances, will the Institute be able to allow staff to sit in with the minors as we expect this responsibility to be fulfilled by guardians and parents.
The Institute’s method of learning, approved by our board and chairman, is to provide one to one learning for students. We have found this to be the most effective way of teaching. We also offer group sessions as there is benefit in group learning too.Sometimes friends and family would like to share the same lesson, this will need to be agreed with the Institute in advance. We can, upon agreement, accommodate more than one student in the class. We do stress however that the lesson duration will remain the same and all members will have to share the time allocated. Our teachers are experienced and will dedicate students with their upmost concentration during their allocated slot.
Institute Replacement Lesson – refers to a lesson arranged in lieu of a class that was paid for but not provided by the Institute.* An Institute Replacement lesson will be offered for every lesson that we are unable to provide.* In the situation where we cannot offer a replacement lesson credit can be added to your account or a refund will be issued.Student Replacement Lesson – refers to a lesson arranged in lieu of a class that was paid for but not attended by student due to illness, or unavoidable schedule clashes.* All our lessons have fixed timings and if they are missed then at the discretion of the management and the availability of the teaching staff they may or may not be replaced.* You cannot accumulate or carry student replacement lessons across terms.

We are unable to guarantee a replacement lesson unless there has been a cancellation in the teacher’s timetable.* In the case that a student is running late, then he/she must inform the institute as soon as possible. Please note that if a student is late to their lesson by more than 15 minutes then this poses a risk of losing the lesson for that day.We strongly advise that you prepare your travel plans, taking account of the time, you need to find parking if you travel by car. The Institute has no parking facilities and students will need to bear this in mind.
- Once payment has been made, we will contract a Quran teacher for the fixed term period for you.
